Botswana, Day 2, PM

So, at 3.00pm we set off on a River Safari.

Within minutes of leaving the Hotel we came across the Elephants playing in the water. Below is a selection of my favourite photos - look out for the last one (elephant having a wee)!

A Water Buck.

It wasn't long before we came across a pod of Hippopotamus and then throughout the trip we came across a lot more pods of Hippopotamus. Each pod had about twenty to thirty Hippos in it and each pod had its dominant male. By the end of the trip we were 'all podded out'.

A Pod.

A Dominant Male.

A Baby Crocodile.

A Water Monitor.

We saw quite a few Crocodiles.

On the way back to the Hotel at 6.00 pm I captured this lovely image.

When we returned back to our room we were really tired; after all, we had been up at 5.00 am, and done two safaris. When we opened the door we were pleasantly surprised to discover that our beds had been 'turned down' and our mosquito nets had been put over the beds.

In the bar, having a cocktail, enjoying the night sky.
